MDS Studios is a Business Incubator Programme run by the Media Design School. Each year we accept 2-3 teams of final year students from across the School into the summer Programme to incorporate their own startup studio or business, and develop a creative technology project for commercial release. 

PROGRAMME DETAILS

ELIGIBILITY

You and your team must meet the following eligibility requirements to register for the programme:

• All applicants must be enrolled as full-time students at Media Design School.

• All third-year students are eligible to apply to the programme.

• Any other students who demonstrate potential for commercial success will be invited to apply at the discretion of Media Design School.

TIMELINE

1. Expression of Interest phase - opens 1st October 2018.

2. Interested teams will be required to prepare a Business Plan (template provided) and submit this by 26th October.

3. Successful applicants will be notified in November if they have been selected to join the Programme.

4. The MDS Studios Programme will formally begin on 3rd December 2018.

5. The Programme concludes on 29th March 2019, however continued support and access to GridAKL can be negotiated.

Lunar Rooster (2016)

Lunar Rooster have created a unique take on multiplayer FPS - think Mario Smash Bros meets Overwatch, set in the Wild West. Sky Noon doesn’t have health bars – instead players use push and pull combat on a floating island landscape. It’s a high intensity and fast paced experience where you need to outflank and outplay your opponents to knock them off The Floating Frontier!

RAGEQUIT STUDIOS (2017)

SRC: Sprint Robot Championship is a science fiction racing game that combines sprinting with parkour free running. Players can sprint, dash, jump and slide across a wide range of tracks. Set the fastest times by finding the optimal path to take while avoiding the many track challenges, by jumping and crouching over and under obstacles. There is no speed limit!   

Clockwork Giants (2017)

Introspect is a fast-paced third-person boss rush shooter that's all about darting around massive mechanical bosses and out-maneuvering them to take them down. By sliding, grappling and super-jumping, players are able to challenge huge threats with an unprecedented level of speed and verticality.      -
